The former focuses on the abstract concepts, category principles, principles, values, concepts and other theoretical issues in legal phenomena and laws, and mainly discusses the basic theoretical issues such as the essence of law, the function of law, the value of law, and the methodology of law; The latter focuses on the specific technologies, procedures, norms, relations and behaviors in the legal phenomena and laws, and mainly studies the legal implementation in each specific legal department.

The law major of our university was founded in 1988. In 2004, it was approved as a brand major of Jiangxi Province. In 2006, it was approved as a master's degree authorization point of environmental and resource protection. In 2010, it was approved as a master's degree authorization point of the first level discipline of law. In 2012, it was approved as the first batch of excellent legal personnel education and training base in Jiangxi Province. It is a key discipline of Jiangxi University of technology. At present, it is the key discipline and characteristic specialty of our university. It has the key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences in Jiangxi Province "environmental resources law research center", the key research base of philosophy and Social Sciences in Jiangxi Province "Central Soviet Area Legal Research Center", the research base of environmental resources judicial theory of Jiangxi Provincial Higher People's court, and the research base of local legislation in Ganzhou City (jointly built with Ganzhou people's Congress); The environmental and Resource Law Research Society of Jiangxi law society and the Central Soviet Area Legal Research Society are affiliated with our school, and the Secretariat is located in our school.
