1. Know major

The law major is based on the Law School of Jiangxi University of science and technology. The major was founded in 1988 and began to recruit undergraduates in 1995. There are also four master's majors and master's degree authorization points. The law major has been rated as the brand major of Jiangxi Province, the first batch of excellent legal talents training base in Jiangxi Province and the construction unit of the provincial excellent legal talents 2.0 plan. In 2021, it was approved by the Ministry of education to become a national first-class professional construction point.

The law major has formed a first-class professional teaching team in the province, constructed a reasonable curriculum system, deepened the inter departmental, inter industry and inter regional exchanges and cooperation within and outside the University, innovated the ways and means of running schools through industry university research cooperation, and provided legal talents and intellectual support for the economic and social development of Jiangxi Province.

2. Training objectives

The cultivation of legal professionals should adhere to the principle of cultivating people with virtue and cultivating both morality and law, so as to meet the actual needs of building a socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and a socialist country ruled by law. To cultivate compound, applied and innovative legal talents and reserve forces who have both political integrity and ability, have a solid professional theoretical foundation, skilled professional skills and a reasonable knowledge structure, have the ability to govern according to law, legislate scientifically, administer according to law, administer justice impartially, provide efficient and high-quality legal services and innovate and entrepreneurship, adhere to the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics and are familiar with international rules.

3. School running characteristics

First, relying on the rich red resources in the region, we have laid a solid foundation for socialist legal talents with Chinese characteristics and optimized the curriculum system. Second, we should make use of regional practical resources to give play to the role of the political and legal front as the second front in the training of legal personnel. The fixed position internship shall be implemented. The internship time of students in the positions of judge assistant, prosecutor assistant and lawyer assistant shall not be less than two weeks, and the cumulative time shall not be less than eight weeks. Create a double teacher classroom. Fixed time, fixed courses and fixed personnel invite practitioners to the classroom for teaching. Third, the "five party interaction" in the second classroom. Simulate a practical case, bring judges, prosecutors, lawyers, teachers and parties together, and help students understand, understand and analyze problems from multiple perspectives.

4. School running conditions

First, the faculty structure. There are 35 full-time teachers in the law major, including 4 professors, 18 associate professors, 63% of senior titles and 13 lecturers. Among the full-time teachers, 15 have doctoral degrees, accounting for 43% of the total number of full-time teachers. Most of the full-time teachers graduated from Wuhan University, Southwest University of political science and law, China University of political science and law and other famous universities in China. Most of the teachers served as directors and Secretary General of China Environmental Law Research Association and various societies in Jiangxi Province.

Second, in terms of database resources, the college has successively purchased databases such as China knowledge network and Peking University Law and Italy to provide support for students to give full play to their personal potential and also provide conditional support for the completion of teachers' scientific research projects.

Third, the college now has three provincial platforms, namely, Jiangxi environmental and resource law research base, Central Soviet Area Legal Research Center and Jiangxi environmental justice theory research base, as well as municipal platforms such as Ganzhou local legislation research base and Gannan difficult case collaborative research center, which provide guarantee for improving the scientific research level of students.

5. Future development direction of graduates

In recent years, the employment trend of the law major mainly includes: first, about one-third of the students are employed in the field of civil servants. Second, get a postgraduate and continue to study. The schools for further study are mainly distributed in Jilin University, China University of political science and law, Central South University of economics and law, Southwest University of political science and law, Northwest University of political science and law, Xiamen University and Jiangxi University of technology. Third, one third of them are directly employed in enterprises and institutions (including lawyers).
